    water strainer?

I had my boat in for the 10 hour service and taking to one of mechs ,he said not to put a strainer that they fail and break causing water in the hull ,he said the factory intercooler hasnt had any problems. What if any other opinions are there?

The Groco Strainer in the Store is a good investment for intercooled engines. They don't leak and they don't break but they do keep sand, algea, leaves, etc, out of the ic. The stock ic does have larger holes than the external ic's but they will still get clogged depending on your riding.
