poor holeshot? rev limiter?
Guys, I was out on my 2006 GTX Limited the other day and the holeshot performance didn't seem as good as it should be. I was racing a yamaha vx 110 from a dead stop and they were leaving me for the first bit.
From a dead stop I punched it and it sounded like it was bouncing off the rev limiter and the yamaha was pulling away. Once I got up some speed it seemed to hook and I was leaving the yamaha as expected. So, my question is why didn't it hook good and just launch? Don't know if it makes a difference but I was 2 up and total weight was over 400 lbs (I'm a big guy) compared to the yamaha that was 2 up with toal weight probably 320.
Any tips on how to get it to hook better? This is the first time I've floored it from a dead stop since I got it, just thought it should take off better.

Check your wear ring. If there is too much clearance between your wear ring and impeller it will spin like cazy out of the hole.
