you'll overstuff the pump and be bucked off with the cut stock grate i'd say go with the riva unless you're willing to drill holes in the grate and pump shoe it might be ok..

    One stop shopping:

As many of you already know, cutting the wings off of the stock intake grate brings about more speed but can also cause an overstuff issue which will toss the rider. This is an extremely dangerous condition as it happens at high speed and there is nothing you can do to hold onto the ski.

The following "free mod" I am posting here might help this condition. Note that i stress "might" help as i have never tried this on a RXP-X yet.

We have done this mod on regular RXP's that run in the 85+++ mph range to help relieve pump pressure and it actually gives us about 100 more RPM's and a speed gain of 1 mph.

For you guys thinking you will do this mod to your less than 85 MPH RXP don't even bother trying it. It will not work and you will possibly lose speed.

Thanks, I was also planning to drill the pump shoe as Jerry suggested. Just finding it hard to wait for RIVA grate. I have a stock grate, one with side wings cut off, and one with the wings tapered on both ends. Planning to test all three with RIVA stage one components.

Well, it's a game of roulette ...eventually uncle buck will visit you! Ask Wilmer (jrsrxp) how he knows.

It's tough but I think you oughta wait on the riva grate.

I hope to have the 15/22 and the R&D grate by this weekend. I am hoping with the new grate, prop, and holes in the pump shoe I will be able to avoid overstuff close to 80 or above. I think you will be fine as long as you drill the holes in your pump shoe.
