Hey me 2 for some un known reason???
Guys I have a buddy that is probably going to log on here he wants to get twin thru hulls on his N/A 4-tec boat...He has an 04 boat with twins but they are as I said N/A versions....
He gets 50mph out of his boat now as it stands.....What do you guys suggest for him to gain a bit more speed?...And can you suggest were to place Marks thru hull exhaust pieces??

Mods in this order value/cost:
#1 Filled ride plate/intake holes
#2 Cold air intake
#3 Impeller repitch w/ fresh wear ring
Then spend some money
#5 RR ECU
Which model does he have...is it an 04 Speedster twin 155?
This is where I installed mine
The speedster has a different style transom but I think if his boat is similar to the one in the pic....he could install a thru hull in roughly the same place as me. One on the left side of left pump and same thing on right side.

That is sweet...with the dock setup...Ya he has the 04 with twin 155's

do you notice a sound difference with the thru hulls?
06-18-2006, 12:19 PM #9
Yes...I had the freeflow and it was a slight increase in rpm but a huge increase in noise around 3000-4000 rpm...a real drone. The Rotax Racing thru-hull eliminated the drone and it sounds much better. I have my intake hooked up to the side fresh air vent so you really hear the supercharger whine, people on the dock are always asking what I have done to it.
Thru-hull is as important to the sportboat as it is to you pwc guys, I would never go back

Yuji is right the intake mod is the best bang for the buck! I gained 500 rpm's and a solid 3 mph just by doing that. On the twin engine filling the ride plate holes I gained another .08 of a mph. Not bad for ten bucks of epoxy. If your buddy wants to spend the money I'd go for the RR ECU's they work great I'm very happy with them. I'm kind of still playing with the impellers I have it almost were I want it. Good luck and happy moding!
PS on the twin SC I found that one degree of pitch is 300 RPMs (Boy that took a while)
