    top-end 787 ?'s

ok guys, doing a top-end on my 787. Ive done the 720 but thats a different motor but kinda the same. Is there anything that I need to be aware of before I start and find myself in stuck? All information apprecieated!
    Thanks,
    Nick

If you are going to a plus sized piston you will need to file down the Rave valves to clear it.

The top end has been done once when i bought it(+.10) you dont have to file the raves for that do you? I thought that it was for anything wider than that. the guy that I bought it from cut the tollerences too close. I am having the cases lightly hones to get the 4 corner scraches out of it. I have the new pistons to put in it too. the ones that are in there are not strong enough so i bought some Pro-X's from WaterWorx.

If it's only .010" you should be ok, especially since you already ran it this way. The pistons need to be set up at .006" clearance, and make sure you stress to your machinist to measure them from the skirts! This is where your previous machinist messed up.
