    argh, sucked up someones junk

I have a 06 RXT with about 43hrs on it and was out today riding with the wife. She was doing some donuts and all of a sudden we just lost all power. My first thought was the intake was full of weeds since its a very weedy lake. I get off and put my hand up there and I don't feel anything. So I get back in and we start it back up and try and give a little gas and still nothing. Im thinking oh great. We are about 2miles away from the ramp so we start idling our way back home cursing under neath my breath the whole way. I get home and get under it and see a long strap that is about 1.5in wide all tangled up in there. After taking off the pump and removing the strap I hope all is fine. Gonna take it out tomorrow and see how she goes. One question though, how easily should the impeller spin inside the pump? I thought it would spin real easy and loose but it really doesnt. Its not that it takes alot of effort to turn it but its just not as loose as I expected it be. I kindof thought I could spin it and it would contine to spin on its own for a little bit.

    D square:

WIth the impeller hooked on and thight, you should not be able to spin it.

It is a direct connect with the motor. If you can spin it you have serious problems.

Then , yes you should be able to spin it freely. It does not keep spinning for more thant a second or so though.
