    2002 GTI Engine Swap/upgrades?

What are my options to upgrade my gti w/ 720? What motors could I swap in? I would imagine I would want to stay carbd since I could probably use the stock fuel system and oil tank. What elese would need to be changed?

Or is it cheaper to just do head, cycledner, and carb work to my stock motor and upgrade the prop?

just throwing out some ideas.. I want to make my 3 seater just a little quicker...

If you want more go, and keep reliability then you will need to swap and to do that you will need to glass in new motor mounts. I would suggest looking into a 951 carb set up you should be able to make a high 60's ski out of that 3 seater with a good set up.

Is there any motors that would not require new mounts?

Yes, but you don't want to go that direction. The 580s, 650s and 720s all shared common engine mounts. As you can tell you are at the top of that food chain already.

I don't know why Bomb made this ski. An XTL1200, 2001+ would be a good idea.

So probably the best thing is do the mods that I think I saw on goupK's website.. where they modify the stock head, port the cycl's, and carb. And then install a different prop.. probably the easiest way to go...?

If I do this I'm not sure which ski I am going to do it to.. my 02' GTI or the 01' GTI that I haven't picked up yet that has the mirrors and speedo..

720 is the biggest motor that will go on the mounts.

Sell your ski & buy one with a 800 or 951 already in it.

Yea Yea I know... but I was just looking for some mild upgrades for the one I already have... what about changing the prop without engine mods? what advantages or disadvantages does this hold?

After I get some more riding time down the road I might want to go invest a faster ski..
