Couldnt wait for UMI, RXP steering set up w/pics

So I get a little gung ho when it comes to my RXP. So one day last week I decided I didnt like the stock steering anymore, and wanted to go with a more sporty set-up. I knew I didnt want to go full umi, just throttle, bars and VTS housing.

I called UMI and they pretty much had nothing in stock. The VTS housing was 4-6 wait for production . By this time I already had everything ripped apart. Luckily Riva had the finger throttle in stock that I wanted, but unfortunetly no housing....

So after staring at pictures of the UMI housing set-up, I thought to myself, I can do that. Luckily at work we have bridgeport milling machines and a good stock of metal. So the next day I found some 60/61 6" aluminum round stock, cut two inches off the end then cut a cheese like wedge out of it. Chocked it up in the bridgeport, and after two days of on and off work and trial and error, I came up with this. I think it looks pretty good, and functions perfectly..

Please let me know what you think of my set up..

    Custom housing..

New alarm location, with a few new pieces and some polished stock pieces for the bars..

New bracket and location, looks pretty cool to and functions great.

    Overall system..

The new look of my 07 ski

Now I just have to get it on the water and I cant wait for that...

Thanks to everyone on this board for their knowledge and help for everything, I appreciate it..

    Nick

Thanks a lot guys..that means a lot, truly. I dont think I would want to sell them cause I make them at work hehe. Let me know what you are looking for though and maybe I can do something for yah.

All in all I think it was 62 bucks for the pro taper bars which are really nice, and 70 for the throttle, so It only cost me a fraction of the price of a whole UMI set-up and Iam completly happy with it.

    Thanks again guys..really.
