    Question Spot-N-Tow for Ultra 250?

Has anyone put the Spot-N-Tow (http://leadgroupinc.com/SpotNTow.php) on their Ultra 250? It looks like it would fit, but I want to be sure before I order (http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...ID=1008&r=view).

Their fit chart (http://leadgroupinc.com/fitChart.php) shows that it fits the following Kawasakis:

    Kawasaki 2000-2005 1200, 1100 and 900 STX
    Kawasaki 2003-2006 STX 12F and 15F
Kawasaki 2002-2006 F-12, F-12X and FX including GPS models

I've contacted the company, but gotten no response. And they don't list a phone number.

I don't want to drill into my hull, but it would probably be worth it if this fits and actually works.

    Thanks,
    John

It can possibly fit with a little fineness, the bottom bracket seem to be a swivel or bendable to accommodate the ultras tail. My main concern would be if it will clear the upper grab bar, you might need to trim it and thatís a big chunk of plastic I donít even think a dermal will cut it, you will need a rotor zip grinder.

Honestly is this really needed, the upper grab bars and rear facing foot holders is very stable. Iíve sat there to watch my jet blast at WOT and didnít fall off.

the biggest advantage with this unit would be to raise the height of the rope pull. it would be a good amenity if it fits. i ski behind my ultra and am trying to barefoot. if the rope was higher it wuold really help. even a foot and a half

It turns out they are apparently under new ownership in Canada by a company named Dock Edge, which I guess is why it took them a while to get back to me, since I contacted them through the old company's web site. I don't know why they haven't redirected it to the new site.

    Here's the new info:

I was told that there is a model (#40-102) which fits the
Ultra 250, but the person I talked to thinks it was discontinued (very strange that they would discontinue something for a newer Jet Ski but not for older ones). She said she thinks they can get the parts together and make one for me, so I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Yeah as benjahw said, the higher rope attachment is a big benefit. And while it's definitely possible for the spotter to hold on to the existing handle, I think this would be a lot more comfortable.

As of tonight I'm still waiting for them to call me back.

I gave them a call today and talked to the same (nice) lady. She said that they are OOTO on Monday (Canadian holiday), but was hoping to give me an update on Tuesday.

She reiterated today that while they don't keep this model in stock, they do still make them, and they just need to wait for the parts to come in for them to assemble. I told her that more people may be interested, and she said they would be able to handle those orders.

At this point I am planning on ordering one as soon as I can, though it sounds like it may take a couple of weeks to get it. When I do, I'll report back with photos.

They have them in now and I just placed an order. They said they would hopefully get it out this week. Total was $301.95, which included $12 shipping from Canada.

The normal order page is http://leadgroupinc.com/SpotNTow.php, but you need to order over the phone (800-295-3625) because the person I've been talking to isn't sure which of the models listed on that web page corresponds to the model # 40-102 that you need for the Ultra 250.

I'll report back after I get it installed.

    Hi John,

Good find! Please do let us know how it goes, i am really interested in getting it too.

Have yet to find a plastic welder guy to modify the Sea-Doo wake holder I brought to fit my 250x.

    Cheers,
    Karl

After reading http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=57756 I ordered one of the SeaDoo wake racks ("Sea Doo GTI 2006-2007 Wakeboard Rack Bombardier") for myself from eBay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AEOIBS AA%3AUS%3A11&viewitem=&item=260240465326

I don't know if it's shipped yet, but now I'm guessing that it won't fit mine either. Is your wake rack for 2006-2007 Sea Doos like the one I ordered, or an earlier one?

Whenever my wake rack comes in I'll post an update in the above thread that I mentioned.
