Road trip to Upstate NY
Heading to Fort Drum, NY today. About an 8 hr drive... alone..UGH!!! Could have flown, but get paid mileage to drive ....These long trips can rack up some good miles!! Which means good money for some mods maybe?? Hmmm. Sounds like a good idea...

Upstate as in near the finger lakes? That would make a nice break for riding if you trailered it up?

Wow. Didnt think of it...I dont want to chance anything since Im trying to ride on Saturday!!! Going for work so probably just piss me off if I did take it because I wouldnt want to be working...Not that I WANT to work anyway....but it would be a BIG distraction.

You would be close to the Thousand Islands too. It is amazing riding there.

Yeah, you are closer to the 1000 Islands than the Finger Lakes, they are a few hours south west. I live in Gouverneur, NY which is only about 30 minutes from Fort Drum and Alexandria Bay. I ride on a smaller lake around Gouverneur. Are you here for construction??

Sort of...I am going to fix some internet issues we have there and look at some New buildings going up for the barracks where the soldiers live. Got to provide Internet and phone to the new buildings...
Staying in Watertown....

Well Sborro's Restaurant on Coffeen Street is very good, but pricey, probably the best place in town. There is also the Fairgrounds Inn Restaurant right up the street, as is "Shorty's Place" which is like a 50's diner. All are very good. Of course there is Applebee's, Ponderosa, Pizza Hut Bistro, Red Lobster up by the mall on Arsenal Street.
Where are you staying?

They actually have an excellent restaurant/lounge right in the hotel, Carriage House. It is pretty good!

I made it...The restaurant looks nice...
Man the weather was crazy. Rained so hard I couldnt see doing 20mph on 81...Then completely cleared up.
Only about 460 miles...wasnt too bad...
All the other times I have been up here I have driven at night...
Definitely a scenic ride...I didnt realize I missed so much driving at night...
