SS Grate test!!!
Tested Jerry's new SS grate today on my ported boat back to back against a stock R@D 800.
90 degrees with a 10 mph crosswind. Freshwater canal.
My ported 1300 with trim tabs, FF plate, banged up DF thats been down the St Johns river a hundred plus times. Over 1/2 tank of gas.
GHSS 800 Grate
First up was the SS grate-
Pump pressure was around 45 pounds give or take and RPMs averaged 7210
R@D 800 Grate
Pump pressure was 45 pounds as well and RPMs averaged slightly higher 7220 with on peak of 7230
Couple things about the SS grate, the holeshot is noticably better. In fact all the way down to 9-10mph (which isn't even on a plane) the boat holeshotted great!! It wasn't untill I stopped the boat dead did I notice any cavitation. A tremendous gain over the R&D. I attribute this to the thinner rear bars on the grate. Also the quality of the casting is incredable compared to the R@D. Everything is smooth without dimples or waves.
Anyone concerned about modding this grate to replicate a Tommy Jordan cut shouldn't worry. The hardest part to me was reshaping the rear bars and most of that is already done.
Very happy with the casting and must say its well worth the money!! Good job Jerry!!

The thinner bars knock off around 20 rpm, same as Tommys test , and the lo speed cavitation is greatly reduced.. Two big positives, besides the fact they will not break..
I honestly cant believe this first, and probably last group of 100 hasnt sold out yet.. Like i said earlier, these will be priceless down the road...
Good testing Duke..

Great test- Great results! I think I'm going to order one now!
Someone needs to test this back to back with an R&D/Riva 1200 grate. Sounds like it may perform just as well out of the hole with better top speed!
