Buying a SHO from out of state dealer???

I'm buying my SHO from an out of state dealer. Dealer add a state tax to the invoice. Will I have to pay my state tax as well? So am I paying 2 state taxes? How does it work when buying pwc from out of state dealer?

    Thanks,

When you buy out of state. You have the option of either titling it in the state you bought it( which would mean you will have that states registration, which would be mailed to your house every year) or you can walk out with the ski and the MSO and bill of sale and title it in your state and pay the tax at that point.

I bought my ski new in Nj and titled it myself in Pa.

just make sure you have the MSO when you leave the dealer. You'll need it to get titled.

Some states dont check when you register. Most require you pay taxes in either, or but not both.

Is the state you are purchasing the ski from a recipient state to georgia tax laws..Example,,,if you pay 2.5% in the state from which you are purchasing but your state tax is 6%,when you register the boat in your state you will pay 3.5% which will total 6% and you will also pay any applicable county tax in the county which you live...

If your state tax is also 4% you are good on state tax but may have to pay a county tax because the state in which you purchased is not allowed to charge you any county tax with an out of state purchase..I live in Florida and our state tax is 6% and my county tax is 1/2% capped at $50....
