    Intermediate bearing grease?

sorry for the Yamaha noob question:
How often do you grease the intermediate bearing?

I have Amsoil synth water resistant grease, is this good? or should I just get the yamaha grease?
I was reading the owners manual, and it states the amount at 10 hours and 100 hours to 1 year, geez I`m hoping the factory put grease in the bearing...

ok, so what`s the skinny on this? Thanks again!...

OK, so your saying that there`s grease behind the bearing in the housing?

    Yep, exactly.
And the Amsoil blue water resistant synthetic grease is great stuff and is what I use on just about everything...It matches the ski too...

34 grams are required at 10 hours
7 grams at 100 hours or yearly whichever is first.
Average grease gun puts out 1 gram per stroke...........best to measure yours with a fine set of scales to be acurate...........34 pumps at 10 hours etc.
Put grease in very slowly especially last few pumps so as to not blow seals........any excess will flow past seals as long as you go SLOW.

Ok, so your saying that it will need this amount of grease at the 10 hour mark?

Yep......... 34 grams at 10 hours........the housing & hose that leads down to it are empty, they do not have grease applied from the factory, thats why you need the 34 grams. Just remember to go SLOWLEY especially the last few pumps.

VX 110's last their entire life with out grease.........very rare the bearing fails. Dont know what the reason is for not greasing GPR's, HO's & SHO's at the factory, but there must be one. Don't forget we are talking about the area around the bearing not the bearing it's self.

Yes, I understand, so what`s the story with filling the void around the bearing, and you metion fill slowly, what is occuring? is there a seal or something that will be hydraulically forced out if to much pressure or volume applied? Thanks again...
