Question 96 XP cavitation issues after sharp turns

    Hello,
I have a 96 XP that is having cavitation issues after turning the ski hard. If I let off the throttle and then idle down it will return to normal and pull like nothing is wrong.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Driveshaft? Or wear ring. I hope it's the wear ring!

What impeller are you using ???

If its a stock one then its normal.

Well this is the second 96 XP I have owned and this is not normal from my previous ski.

As far as I can tell it's the stock impeller. It's just strange as when it starts cavitating it goes no where at all until I let off the throttle all the way.

    Thanks for all the input!

Are the leading edges of the impeller ragged? Also check and make sure there is a foam gasket between the pump and ride shoe.

Mine does the same thing. I think it's normal. My wear ring and impeller are mint. I think it's cause it's sucking in the "white water" when you are turning sharply the grate is coming slightly out of the water when you turn. Then you let off the gas, the ski settles back down again, and she's sucking up "normal water" thus no more cavitating.
