    + 7 mph with a ride plate?

I went thru my pump and swapped impellers even though the old one was fine save for some cavitation pits to a new stocker on my 99 xl 700
( fishing only ski) and I had bought an R&D ride plate a while ago so I put that on also ! Now this wasn't gps verified because my speedo is always so close I stopped bringing it , anyway I picked up 7 mph? or can a ride plate fool a speedo wheel? . Just curious untill I can verify

and if the sensor is mounted off to the side, lean one way or turn and watch you speeds go through the roof. My raider would hit 78 in a long sweeping right hand turn at WOT bone stock.

just for fun (with an aftermarket ride plate)

get the ski up on plane...

lean from one side to the other while maintaining a constant speed...

watch the speed reading on the speedo.

I have seen it spike as much as 7+ mph

When my 2000 was bone stock the speedo was pretty accurate. When I added the ride plate I got into the dreamo zone too. Ski went from 64 to 67 mph on gps, but speedo was reading 75. I would let friends ride it and they would come back all big eyed telling me how fast they went. People are way to smart now. That was back in spring 2001.

Thanks for the replies! it didn't feel faster . I liked my speedo being accurate! I think I need to see if I can notice a real plus to the ride plate? maybe it needs to be on one of my 1200's to do more good? Thanks guys Z
