Thread: Ultra 250X.

I bought my Ultra 250X this year and it has about 13 hours on it as of yesterday. I'm going Memorial Weekend with a buddy who has a RXT 215.
My question is, will I be able to outrun him on his RXT? I know I have a huge horsepower difference but he doesn't weigh as much as me.
I just need some reassurance. lol
Don't mean to stir up anything. I just need to know.

In most instances your going to be faster than him. If your riding in any sort of chop your gonna win but in flat water he might pull you off the line and on top end it will be very close.

Get a Ultra LX wedge(at the least), clean the excessive silicone from the ride plate and inside the gullet (inside the pump tunnel)and a R&D ride plate and you wont have any problems...............

I'm not sure if I'm reading your posts wrong, but an LX will not touch an RXT. The ultra is JUST beating it, no way an LX with minor mods done can keep up.

It kinda makes me mad that I have 250 and he has 215 and he will still keep up with me.
I'm not sure what you guys would consider chop but I ride on a realtively small lake, and the chop doesn't get really over 1ft. I noticed my ski chops through, and videos on YouTube of a RXT it bounces.
What about if we are cruising at about 30 then hit the gas? Who will accelerate from who?

why does it make you mad? Its only a 35 hp difference and our ultras are the heaviest ski made. Wait till you get it to blast thru the heavy chop when others are falling off their skis and you are going full throttle as it begs for more. If you want the fastest stock ski, that would currently be the rxt x (in three seater form). Every thing else is gonna be pretty much close in stock form.
As stated, get a rideplate, wedge, and r&d air intake kit and you should be close to 70.
It is a very fast ski for its weight, which helps in the rough. I am glad I got it, water has been rough 90% of the time here so far.
