verdict on grate mod
so im looking to cut out the side bars on my ultra grate. have we determined if its a speed enhancing mod?? or is it too dangerous? how have your results been?
also, i keep resealing my plate and grate with marine silicone, but it keeps falling out. im thinking of using an epoxy to make it REAl smooth. i just dont konw if it would be too hard to ever get the plate or grate off again.

i wouldn't use expoxy. How long are you letting the silicone cure?

maybe try a different kind of silicone. Use 100% clear silicone. Make sure that it is smoothed out with no edges for water to catch on. Kinda like doing body work on a car.....make it pretty and smooth.

I am running right in about 70+ with the riva plate and 1 degree wedge and some filters and the adjustable BOV. Which should be similar to blocking it off (looks way cooler but $$$$ for likely similar results.)
I wouldn't recommend epoxy, that will prove a bitch to get off if you need to get to something.

TN, i noticed your getting your engine tore apart. is that kawi looking into your GIO issue? I am suppose to take my ski into the dealer so they can look into the GIO issue but ive been very hesitant because its summer. i m thinkin of taking it in soon so they can tear it apart-i have just been riding a lot and dont want to be out of a ski for the summer. i hope they can get it back within the month if i take it in.
