Jerry-R/R intercooler bracket - Did you run that long screw

I have had my intercooler on my boat since last year however, I did not like the way it was mounted. I just got the PPG plumbing kit and bracket. Did you run that long screw into the bottom of the hull???

In your picture of the plumbing kit- Why is your exhaust probe strapped onto your coolant tank hose??

Yes, i ran the screw into the hull!

Aaaaah, you are the first one to catch that little trick. Mark Underwood had me do that. Sometimes with a modded waterbox you can get too little water passing by the probe. When that happens it registers HOT and therefore richens your a/f ratio up to cool the exhaust gas. Strapping the probe to a constant heat source prevents this from happening.

Jerry, Did you have to remove the styrofoam from the hull behind the intercooler?

Yes, you have to cut the styrofoam at about the middle of the top of the pump cavity. You then cut that styrofoam down to serve as a rear support for the IC.

I'm supposedly getting an "offshore" IC cradle from PPG. I was sent the RR IC w/ PPG plumbing and that aluminum bracket however my bracket was missing both the strap and notch to secure the strap. Glen had me FedEx all the stuff back and said he would send me out the "offshore" cradle that supposedly is a better, more secure bracket for the IC. It's been over a week since I sent my stuff overnight and supposedly some stuff is getting powdercoated. I have no idea what this cradle looks like or how it mounts - anyone heard of this?

Yea Glen told me about it. It sounds like a really nice and secure mount. I haven't seen one yet though.

I'll post pics if/when she comes...it's hard having an IC sitting in a box for over a week.
