So has anyone pulled flame arrestor out of their X ski yet?
has anyone tried it yet and noticed any real world gains?

almost a pound of boost gain. there is a hole saw drill bit you can buy to drill the end cap off the stock intake manifold and the filter will slide out easy. use a RXP IC block off to cover hole

so if one were to have an extra Intake cap, one would be able to measure it and get the right size metal whole saw???? Once cut open, how hard is it to remove the screen and is there anything else one would need to know in order to do this mod???? What holds the cap in place?
sound like i might give it a shot sunday...just dont want to forget or not take into account something on sunday and not have the ski for the holiday weekend..

I just called them about this a few minutes ago. So who is going to do it first??

There have been a couple of us who removed those from the 185hp manifolds. It takes a little work but they can be bent and pried out from the TB opening after the TB and manifold have been removed.

dont drill anything... it comes right out thru the TB side.. then u dont need to worry about a block off
finesse and patience and collapse it inside the manifold and it comes out.
05limited has done it numerous times... lurker has.. and several other people
i've done it twice now... ZERO dollars out of pocket

somebody post a few picks next time you do it.
before, several picks of the prying in progress.
then the final result.
do you need to finish off any loose edges after prying it out????
