Your RPMs will start to drop.BUT by that time the washers are already starting to come apart..Sometimes there is no warning they just let go...

i would like to ride it this summer & then get it rebuilt in fall.

Not a wise move..For the hour or so it takes to completely do a SC clutch exchange it isnt worth taking that chance....

also where can i get a good service manual(step by step for dummies).

Look on ebay..There are usually manuals for sale on there..

i am mechanically inclined but am lost on this machine. would like to do own maint. on it(winterizing, etc)

Snoman basically mentioned everything you should know, but just to help you out a little more, here is a link to how to remove the supercharger. You can send it to Jerry and he will do the metal washers for you.

Safe for a quick second but nothing more... Even on the hose you don't want to run for a extended length of time because your ride plate acts as a heat excanger..No water on ride plate= overheat

you can run out of the water withouta hose for about a minute, if its a cold engine. if its alreadt hot from riding i wouldnt run it for more than 15 seconds.
with the hose you can run the engine cold or hot for a few minutes, biggest problem is overheating the driveshaft seal, carbon ring.
so you need to splash some water on the seal ecvery minute or so, or fill the hull up with water so its just above the driveshaft.
theres never really a reason to run the skis out of the water that long anyways.
keep it to 30 sec to a minute and you'll never have a problem.
    REMEMBER
    always
    start engine first
    then turn on hose
    then turn off hose
    then turn off engine

if you turn the hose on first, theres a chance you can flood the engine with the hose water pressure. so dont do it!!!!
