    RXT-X performance

I may use this thread to let you guys know my findings as I add mods most have already been posted by others so nothing really new but here it is any way

today with 6 hours I went out after I cut the stock grate and with 3 bars of fuel I ran 70.5 before my best was 69.3 plus I did notice a increase in fuel milage I got around 4.73 MPG and I ran it pretty hard today so I think I should be able to get around 70 miles before I need fuel I will find out this weekend

next I will install the Riva grate and test, then custome 4" air intake, prop, adjustable ventura, wedge, fill ride plate holes I will try to do these one at a time and report back if I can control myself

    everything else is stock

as a side note my 05 RXT went 73.3 today with the 15/20 +1mm but I was on the limiter plan on testing the 15/22 before it goes into the X trying to get to 74+ before I add the ECU

The T-X is getting the 10 hour sevice done I should have it Tuesday and will install a few more items

I installed the Riva grate but I have not been to the area that I use for my speed test as i like to do my testing in the same area

it did run 70.6 but on different water I plan on testing it Tuesday before I add more items to see if it is better than the cut stock grate

I got 67.5 with a full tank of gas and a cooler in the front, and about 5 hours on the clock. Also 8080....t-x.

I just removed the grate and used a hack saw with a good blade it was pretty easy

hope to do more testing as soon as I get my extra 15/22 prop

I went out today to test the riva grate in the same area I do all my speed comparisons

the contions were not as good as it was 15 degrees hotter 90 with higher humity than when I tested the cut stock grate and it was choppy my RPM`s were at 8040 but my speed was 69.6 this is .9 slower than the cut stock I am sure it is because of the heat but just need to see what others have found I plan on sticking with the Riva unless I find out the stock is a better option

    update

I installed the 15/22, 4' air intake and catch can (riva grate installed earlier) took it out yesterday temp were 83 and the humity was not as high as normal. with a full tank and just off the trailer it ran 71.6 then after about 40 miles of riding I was down to 3-4 bars and it ran 72 my RPM`s were good at 8040-8060 I still need to smooth out the JB weld on my ride plate holes. I have the adjuable nozzle to test and maybe the wedge but right now I really like the holeshot and the 72MPH I dont wont to lose the holeshot for .5 mph but we will see what happens.

I will get the ride plate smooth and probably add the nozzle and test again.

so far I am really happy with the T-X

Scott, What did you use to make your 4" intake? I want to order the 620 wd kanaflex hose, but what do I need in addition to get everything set up properly? Jon

One more thing...catch can - are these hard to install? Did you buy from the store?
