    Yellow and Green Water Restrictors

As we're getting ready to test 3 impellers on the RXP-X here at PPG, we noticed something interesting. The RXP/RXT's come with the yellow water restrictor in front of the jet pump. The RXP-X/RXT-X come with a Green water restrictor, which has a 1mm larger diameter to allow more volume of water through the intercooler since the external intercoolers restrict water flow more than the oem intercoolers. This is very interesting because on the older models we found we had to drill those yellow by 1mm for proper flow and to not throw the P1554 temp sensor code. Now no drilling required, just buy the RXP-X/RXT-X green restrictor.....life's just been made a littel easier.....lol

when you take your pump off, top left on teh pump support there is a small round plate encased in Rubber which is yellow on 215 models and apparently green on 255 models. This restricts water flow because the hole is actually like 3/4" in diameter.

Correct, like meeper said, it mounts between the pump and the pump support. If there was no restriction there, the water would flow too fast and it wouldn't have enough time to remove enough heat.....move too slow and it picks up too much heat....it has to be just right, like Goldie Lock's poradge(*sp)
