    GPR Hulls

Can you put a 1300 hundred in a 800 hull? I found a local shop who has a 800 hull and he claims that you can. I would assume I would have to change the display too, but that is not too big of a deal.
    Does anyone know for sure?

Kirk, the plates in the stringers that the motor mounts bolt to will be in the wrong place in the front. Other than that I think they are the same. It probably wouldnt be worth it to move the plates and reglass it. JMHO

    Thanks.
Maching metal adapter plates is one thing, but I am NOT getting into any glass work.

It would be a nice sleeper though! Especially a 75 mph GP800R.

Don't think that I have not thought of that already. Who ever I would walk by would know. Now watching what looks like a 1200 go by them at 75 would have them scratching their heads.
The goal with this ski wil be 80+.

Oh no, not me. I do not have that kind of time or patence for that kind of project. I bought the internals out of an 07 GPR that someone else is doing a conversion on. My plan is to do a little porting and whatever else WFO can think of. I just love the 2 stroke and not ready to give up on them yet.

Pistonwash says that the location for moving the plates is already scribed into the engine stringers.

So basically you need to drill the front two holes, then find some way to move those internal plates forward.

My thought was to drill a 1-2" hole, up near the final location, and use it to move the internal plates forwards. Once you have them in place and riveted in place, just use expanding foam to cover the holes back up.

Huum That does not sound too painful. I am going to keep looking and keep this one as a last resort. I really need an EFI boat since thats what I will be installing into it; should make the assembly go much easier.
This 800R I found is in excellent shape considering it has been sitting outside. Even has a single galvanized trailer and I could get this for a very good price. Is even still has some engine parts. Hell, the more I think about it, the more I think I need to go pick it up and sell for a conversion ski.

Anyone want a 800R hull for a conversion?
