what air sensor? are you talking about the rectifier at the front of the ski?

Oh I thought it was the air temp sensor.

Why would they stick it in the airbox?

And what exactly does this rectifier do?

    Found:
    rectifier:
A device used to change AC (alternating current) into DC (direct current). Some small motorcycles use a single diode for this purpose (half-wave rectifiers), the overwhelming majority use four diodes connected in a bridge which yields full-wave rectification.
What does the RXP need to convert from AC to DC?

Batteries put out DC, most electronic devices run off of DC. The stator in your doo creates AC and in order for the electronics to work and battery to charge the AC needs to be converted to DC.

The same thing happens in your car, but on newer cars the process takes place inside of the alternator (in a diode pack)

They place it in the airbox so it gets air flow over it. It gets hot while running your ski.

I like to ziptie hamburgers wrapped in tin foil on mine.
Then after an hour or so of riding I have a nice hot hamburger ready to go.

The question is, "would you eat one?".
