2005 RXT clicks when trying to start...

Went to fire up the RXT. I put the key on, waited till I heard the two beeps and then pressed the start button. All I heard was a click. I pressed start again and all I heard was a click. Pressed it a third time and the ski fired right up. The battery is fully charged.

    Any ideas?

check you connections at your battery and your grounds. It could be a bad starter solenoid. you can do a ohms test across the solenoid with a multi-meter. should be close to 0 ohms with starter button depressed. you could also do a voltage drop test too.

How much voltage is on the battery when the key is not on the ski and how much voltage while you are trying to start it?

More than likely you need to replace the battery.

I'm thinking it's the starter solenoid based on stuff I just read. Where is it located?

My RXP-X with 9 hours needs a starter solenoid, too. On the RXP-X its up front on the left when you pull the bucket out.

... make sure you have a fully charged/ok battery before you ID solenoid as culprit.

My '03 GTX-Sc did that on & off since it was new. I replaced the OEM battery with an Odyssey and it hasn't done it for over 2 years... Ron
