    Expanding foam question...

Do you guys think expanding foam will cure in a sealed bag? Think it just takes alot longer to cure? the instructions say it will skin over in about 30 min. I shot some in a bag about 2 hrs. ago, and it hasn't even thought about skinning over yet.
Think I may need a 2 part foam to do what I'm doing?

Depends on the chemistry of the foam.

The building supply store foams often require humidity to expand and cure. In fact, I often spray water mist on the surfaces before I inject the foam, just to maximize the expansion and accelerate the curing.

Al posted about a Black Touch'n Foam water fountain/pond Polyurethane sealant foam that resembled the tough black foam in the MSX hulls. I think there are several brands that are similar.

I think the two-part spray-on insulation foams react and harden almost instantly, with next to no working time, so I am not sure they would work for your purpose.

    Thanks K.
Are you or anyone familiar w/ this product? If so, what temperature is needed to activate it? http://www.lpsind.com/Instapak.htm

Found some at Mcmaster, and I wouldn't have to buy a whole case. I don't want to buy the warmer for a one-shot deal. I'm trying to make a supportive floating saddle for my fuel tank.

Bob, I already ordered 4 packs so I can trial and error them. Hopefully I can get 1 right.
The pack heater uses 2.3 amps., which = about 275 watts.
Keddano, I think your right. A heating pad should work. Thanks for the idea.
