    Thinking about buying RXP

Hey guys, great site you have here. Right now I own a 00 RX-DI and a 00 GTX-DI. I find between the 2 of them Im burning a case(3 jugs) of oil every 2 rides. I could go 1 more ride without topping them up but I like to make sure theyre full.

So...Im thinking about selling 1 of them and picking up a RXP. Will the 4stroke really save me that much more money seeing how I will have to run 90+ gas with a S/C boat.

Also, would I be happy with a RXP or is the RXP-X really worth the extra money? Can I build a RXP to keep up with a P-X?

Love to hear some input on both topics.

    Thanks!

I rode my RXP one day WOT, and I burned about 14 gallons in one hour.

RXP-X is worth the extra money if you want to spend that amount. If not, the 2008 215 is an excellent ski which has the upgraded supercharger.

    Dont think too hard...it hurts.

I just purchased an '06 RXP to replace my '01 RX-DI so I can speak from experience.

You won't be able to rationalize the RXP purchase based on the savings you derive from not purchasing oil for your RX-DI. It's simply a matter of fuel burn - the RX-DI has a much lower fuel burn rate than the RXP.

The RX-DI is also more "playful" and seems to offer a drier ride.

The RXP provides much better acceleration and about 5 MPH higher top speed. I've read on this board that the removal of the OPAS system and the installation of the RE Block-offs makes the RXP more like the RX-DI in terms of handling.

I loved my RX-DI - it was a great ski. My main reason for replacing it was the realization that it is so expensive to repair once you start having problems.

I hope that this information is helpful. Good luck with your decision.

    Thanks for the post guys!

Im having a prob figuring out what ski to sell. I love riding my RX but the GF likes the GTX and its nice having all the storage space.

If I can find a good price on a P-X i think Ill grab one of those.

sell the RX-Di and keep the GTX. the RXP will be the replacement for your two seater. If you get an RXP-X, I'm sure you'll love it !!

    jpar247,

I just bought an RXP-X to replace my 2001 carbed RX. In my opinion, you will not be dissapointed!! The RX is a smaller and lighter craft and I used to think it was pretty fast,,, until I rode my RXP-X for the first time. Acceleration is just unbelievable!! Here in P.R. we run 100% ocean riding and it is always pretty rough, so I appreciate the larger hull of the P-X and also the added power for wave jumping. All in all I am very satisfied and I'm sure so will you with either and RXP or an RXP-X. Good luck, and be sure to keep us posted.

The handle bars on the X make it the choice.

VS 215 + boost wheel + fuel pressure regulator + handle bars etc..

Is there a better year for the RXP? I want to throw a Stage 1 or 2 on it and just wondering what would work best?
