Quick Question. Need VERY quick answer. SLX compression
Just looked at the ski again. I did a compression test, the first 2 cylinders from front to back both read 132 psi, the one closest to the back read 123 psi. The guy has someone coming to look at it tomorrow morning; the ski is mine if I let him know before then so any quick answer/advice would be great.

No firm answer here, but compressions are supposed to be within 10% of each other, some say 5%
132-13.2=118.8 Good ?
132-6.6=125.4 So, Not to good
But I would run it.
Is gage accurate, is battery full charged, throttle wide open during cranking?
Lots of variables here!!
See SBT Tech section for more answers.

It was fully charged, throttle was not WOT. I guess I will go for it then? Whats the worst that can happen (this is a serious question haha)?

Your not towing it yet?

Well I picked it up today. I was very impressed for the most part. However, it seems like my top speed isnt up to what others are saying (according to the mfd). I was running at 6300-6500 rpm and was topping out around 55 mph. However, it was running on old gas and very bad plugs.

Keep topping the tank with fresh fuel as you run out the old,Check the fuel seperator,Fresh plugs. You can then get into checking prop and stator condition.A bad prop/stator will knock you down some. And it's new to you,so you'll learn the best position and or trimming. Also skis can change top speed with amout of fuel, conditions, etc.Maybe pick up a small LED flex neck flashlight and take a look at the piston wash,It may need some tuning.

Few more questions. What is involved in changing the plug wires. I see that one cap is taped up. And should I expect the compression in that cylinder to get any worse? Or will it most likely stick at those numbers?
