Thread: Hi temp warning...

Hi temp warning...
This hi temp warning always comes on after about a minute or two of doing donuts or messing around in the water
I like to mess around and do donuts and stuff and cannot because of this....Now, the question is will this go away with that 158 deg thermostat?

You're not getting enough water into the system and the pipe is heating up causing the overheat alarm...I doubt very seriously it's a thermostat related issue as the thermostat is not affected by this...IMO

This really BLOWS! I can mess around with my Yamaha 1200 XLT for over 15 minutes with no problems at all!

Your XLT doesn't make 215+/-hp in a big giant barge of a hull, run 69+mph and need all the cooling help it can get either though does it...
You win some and you lose some...

While true, still SUCKS! How come it does not happen with the RXP though?

Just today i was out doing doughnuts 10 /15 minutes at atime deliberatley trying to see if anything woudl happen ... I think u should have it looked at .. low coolant maybe????kinked line ??/ bad sensor ?? it should not happen that quick!!!

I don't do it for more than 10-15 mins at a time anyway. I've seen plenty of RXP's in my riding area doing it day in and day out with no hi-temp problems.
Coolant looks a tiny bit low. What coolant can I use?
