    Question 2 questions!!! HELP!!!

My 94 sl750 sounds like it is bogging out until I hit a wave and then all of a sudden it takes off and runs great until I let off the throttle then it will bog out again until I hate another wave. WHy is this????

    2. My 95 slt750 is getting no spark at all. I have pulled the board out and fixed a few broken terminals. But somebody before has jerry rigged some of the wire together. I believe they have the red one's with the purple and white line going into one but connector and not even touching the board in the box. I also dont have that wire connected to a fuse like my 94 box has. Is this the problem????

    Welcome to the Hulk Racerman.

Sounds like it's bogging out until you come out of the water (no load, increasing RPM)? And the stays until you let off the throttle?

Did you replace the impeller with a different one? Sounds like it may be too steep.

Or is it revving, but not moving too well? Possible cavitation problem.

Question 2: Get a new board and connect each wire to it's corresponding color coded location. Add a new connector to the wires if you must. NO WIRES should be tied together....

If you have a MFD, there should be a fuse.

It will rev up to about 4500rpm and it will come out of the water. It's like there is something loose and when the ski is bumped it will re attach or something and the ski will take off like it should.

It's a long shot, but check the coupler behind the motor, and make sure that the splines haven't stripped out of the shaft or coupler. It under the black cover take the black cover off and just try turning it.

Like I said it is a long shot but it is possible.

    Good luck, Tim

Please give more details. Your explenations are vague...

First you said it was bogging.

Now it's revving up to 4500. Is this the max RPM?

It can be carbs or fuel related.

It could be pump related or cavitation.

Or it can be your splines like Tim said.

We need more info to pinpoint your issue.

Ok. I unload it into the water, When I hit the throttle it sounds like it is bogging out but it will eventually get up to 4500 rpms with no power at all. IF I hold the throttle wide open and jump a wave, When the ski hits the water it will then take off with the amount of power it should have until I let off the throttle. As soon as i let off the throttle it goes back to running with no power until I can hit another wave to "wake it up". I guess it's like it's only running on one or two cyclinders until I Jump a wave. Hope this is a little better.

    A little bit better, thanks.

4500 RPM is way low, should be around 6000ish

Can you perform a compression test and let us know the results.

Have you serviced the carbs, checked filters, and hoses?

The wave (bump) making a difference may mean you have a poor elec connection somewhere?

Check all wire connections. Esp. ground wires.

Try unscrewing the spark plug boots, cutting about 1/4" of wire off and re-screw the boot back on.

What are the plugs gapped at? How do they look?

Check out the tech section for trouble shooting.

Try ohm testing the elec stator, coils and spark plug boots.

Also look into the drive shaft splines for damage, and the jet pump for broken fins or excessive wear ring gap.

Sounds like you may have a binding condition with the pump. Pull the drive shaft shroud and remove the spark-plugs and see if it rotates buy hand.
