    Different Types Of Lifts??

Hey guys, i live on a saltwater bay, and i have a dock in the canal. I am thinking about getting a new rxt and i figured if i wana keep this thing looking good and not covered in oysters and barnicles and stuff.... so i was looking at lifts... and well there seems to be a few kinds. Electirc, manual, floating drive on, etc....Ive heard drive on floating ones scratch the bottom of your ski.

Anyone got any ideas/thoughts about what type to get?

    Thanks

    Oliver

    Oliver,
This is what I have for my ski's, one of mine is 11 years old and the other two are about five years with zero problems!

They are not very hard to turn but they do have one with an electric motor for about $300 more. It mounts to the top of the pier with four stainless bolts with nuts and washers on the bottom side. The upright posts shown in the picture have nothing to do with the mounting however you do need a post behind the lift for support, I guess you could cut one of your existing posts off even with the top of the pier and mount it there.

I was kind of thinking about getting a drive on floating dock because they look alot easier and i think they would be better in my situation. i found a good large one on ebay. Does anyone know if these scratch up the bottom of your pwc?

I was thinking about getting this one:

i would get a floating dock, you need at least a EZport3
you might as well get two of them cuz one alone is very narrow and hard to walk around, if you have two skis its totally worth it.
you can also get a hydroport, or a carolina dock the jumbo version.
i used to have sportportXLT's i loved them, cuz they were flat and easy to walk around.
but for the new heavy skis you need the rollers.
get any floating dock with rollers that is long enough and has a high enough floatation rating.
i dont love the ezdocks cuz they are so uneven to walk around, but the rollers are a must.
they will scuff the bottom of your ski, but only about the same as your trailer would. nothing is perfect.
if you keep your eyes open you can find used ezdock3's for under $1000 each.
last year i found a pair for 1400!!!!!!
