    Question Starting Problem With Gp1200r

I JUST PUT A NEW STARTER IN MY 01 1200R AND I HAD TO TAKE OFF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE NEXT LINK IN THE EXHAUST TO GET TO IT AND THEN I PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND THE STARTER WORKS GET AND THE ENGINE IS GROUNDED. WHEN I WAS TRYING TO START IT I WAS OUT OF GAS SO THAT ANNOYING BUZZER WAS GOING OFF AND EVERTHING ON THE GUAGE WAS WORKING. I BROUGHT IT TO THE GAS STATION AND THEN WENT TO PUT IT IN THE WATER AND IT WOULDNT START. THE GUAGE WOULD NEVER COME ON OR ANYTHING. SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE HOUSE AND MESSED WITH IT FOR A WHILE AND I TOOK THE SPARK PLUGS OUT AND I WAS GETTING NO SPARK FROM THEM BUT I PUT THEM BACK ON. ABOUT 30 MINS LATER IT STARTED AND IT STARTED FOR LIKE THE NEXT 5 TRIES AND NOW IT WILL NOT START AGAIN. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING ON?

Check your battery cables or ground wires. Sounds like a bad ground or loose cable.

I checked all the wires that i could find for a bad ground but its grounded everwhere that i can find. the gas tank was empty so i put 11 gallons of gas in it yesterday and today there was about a gallon and a half of gas sitting in the hull. there is still no spark in the plugs. I took off the temp sensors and the warning guage came on so there is still power to the guages. Where should i go from here????????????

Check all your ground cables again & check the plug that comes from the front pickup cover for corrosion, this happens to a friends ski about once a month. Give all your wiring plugs a good spray with some corrosion spray.

    Thanks!

It ended up just being a wire that corroded apart somewhere in the ski. JIMS PERFORMANCE figured it out! Thanks again Jim!
