04 RXP Performance
Hi I have just bought a 04 rxp, was in the water yesterday and the top speed was only around 55mph, i thought these things did around 70 mph, the water was flat as a pancake. Some one has said it may be the super charger, but i have tested that today, and cant spin it by hand.
I Only got one key with the craft, could this be the leaner key?????

How many RPMs? Is the key white with "learning key" written on it??

How fresh is the gas?
Mine needed a new tank of gas and spark plugs before it would break 55. Now it will do 65 with the ocasional 67. My girlfriend's does 70 (jet ski indicated). Don't be scared about changing the spark plugs it is VERY easy.
How scratchy is the bottom of the boat? that's good for a couple of mph.
Are you 400lbs? that's good for 10 mph
Was the oil recently changed?

It is either:
Too much oil in case

My bets are on s/c, bad gas, bad plugs, or coil pack.
On second thought I don't believe it's the learning key. Usually it would max out somewhere in the range of 36-45 with the L-key if I remember correctly.

Like the others said, I would first check the spark plugs. But what RPMs are you turning. Aother possibility is your supercharger.
