How to pull a SS wear ring out?
Any ideas on how to pull out a stainless wear ring?

I dont think its even possible lol... Maybe cut them out with a dremmel and alot of time.

throw the pump in the freezer for a few hours. Then usual a hair dryer or carefull using a heat gun heat up the outside of the pump. this will expand the outside of the pump while the wear ring is remains smaller.

I tried the freezer trick + torch... Mine would not budge. Hope you have better results.

freezing it is the wrong approach. bake it for a while. let the aluminum expand and loosen its grip on the ss. freezing makes the metals contract and makes the fit tighter this is all assuming that galvanic corrosion has not set in between the dissimilar metals, and that the press fit tolerance is within the range of aluminum's thermal expansion.
now for a plastic wear ring, 1 hour in the freezer and it just falls out

so is changing the SS wear ring really that hard to get out. I got 2 sitting on the shelf that have not been installed. Also what is the average life of the SS ring if allignment is good with front mt. thanks
