    Dipstick

Something I came across when changing the oil...Actually it was driving me nuts for a while. I could never get a clear reading on my dipstick. There was always hardly any oil on the dipstick. When I looked at other RXPs/RXTs it was clear what the oil level was. Anyhow I compared the diptsticks and mine had a glossy finish, whereas all the others were dull. The oil would just quickly drip off before I had a chance to read it. So I used a piece of emery cloth and gave it a dull finish, cleaned it appropriatly and retried. Now it is much easier to read, and it clear where the oil level is.
I believe this is why the dealer had overfilled my machine. They could not tell the level either. Anyways, I read about a few other people saying it was hard to read the oil level on the dipstick and thought I'd mention this.

I did not sand the paint completely off, just dulled the finish. It was a night and day difference. I was starting to think I was an idiot, not being able to read a dipstick.

I will try that too. What I did last time was remove the dipstick while it was idling, wipe it off, let it idle 30 seconds, shut it off, wait 30 seconds, then put the dipstick in. The reading is so much clearer that way, and at idle, no oil comes out of the dipstick tube.

    Thumbs up

Although I don`t have that issue, it is indeed a good tip! ...PR...
