He told me he spent 4 hours writing that article.

Have you ever seen GP type? If he wrote that, he put at least 22hrs into it :P But yeah, there are enough typos left to be written by him and it is somewhat his 'style' of writing.

Sounds like you lost your clutch. You can pull it off and check it yourself. When you have the SC out of the ski. wrap a towel around the drive gear and hold the drive gear with some pliers. If you can turn the shaft with the drive gear staying stationary, it's gone. Also, look above and below the drive gear for ceramic washers. I'm guessing one or both are missing.

As far as repair, unless you really know what you are doing, I would take it to the dealer. Be prepared to find that they don't know what to do. Here is what to tell them to do:

    1. Check clutch operation.
    2. If clutch is gone, inspect ceramic washers,
    3. If one or both ceramic washers gone, pull front oil scavenge pump cover and check screen for ceramic pieces.
    4. Then pull PTO cover and check screen for ceramic pieces.
    5. Inspect oil pumps for damage caused by migrating ceramic pieces.

If your ski is stock, this should be covered under warranty. If not stock, play real nice with the dealer and maybe they can push it thru warranty. My thought is that with all the clutch failures going on, Sea-Doo will not bat an eye at covering it under warranty.

You want to ensure that both ceramic washers are in place. They are to the left and right of the gear. Make sure they are both there!

(in this case the one to the left is green, the one to the right is gray)
