There are waterproof casts now....my friends son had one and used it in the pool etc. and riding with us.

Ask your doc for a waterproofcast and issue resolved.

Make a note to get as much water out from between skin and cast when you are done getting wet. It will cause skin to peal and get painful if not done......

I've heard of the water proof.. but i wonder about the salt from salt water staying inside.

I'm going to look for one of the big rubber gloves like they use for handling fuel and see if one is big enough.

Is it your hand or your arm?? I've always used the velcro type casts and tried to be careful. Probably have one for just about every part of my body by know.

broken hand, did it falling off at wot on memorial day weekend. seems as though my hand did a karate chop on the ski as i went off.

i have a cast on it up to middle of forarm, thumb is free and fingers free up to middle of fingers. i can grip the handle bar enough to ride, as long as chop isnt too bad

Thats a tuff one. If it were me I would just not worry about the water and cut it off that night. Chances are your hand is going to be swollen from riding and very painful. Just get a new one or velcro glove on Monday.

Every injury I have had has heeled better when I can move the joints around at night. If it is not mobile I get bad atrophy and never seem to get full range of motion back.
