Thread: SHO Recall?
06-05-2008, 04:23 PM #1
Just received a call from Mike at Riva and they said that Yamaha is doing a recall/maintenance upgrade on the flywheel and the piece that connects to it on the SHO (possibly the transfer shaft and the coupling flange?), he wasnt sure exactly.
Wasn't an emergency thing..... but something that Yamaha wanted done, I think, to the couple of SHO's that snuck out with dealer fixes in February......gotta love a manufacturer that does preventative upgrades to their skis ...guess its a cheaper fix than the flywheel coming off and sawing/tearing off the back half of the ski....:P
If any1 else gets this notification...please let me know.....
Still.....no charge to me and i'll have my ski back in 2-3 days.........salute to yamaha....in this day and age.....it's refreshing to not fight tooth-and-nail and feel like ur getting bent over every time u deal with companies..

Must be for the SHOs that was fixed by the dealer.

Just got my SHO back from Riva....spoke to Mike......heavier duty flywheel and transfer shaft installed.....apparently the shaft is screwd on....tightening it on from the inside....and then a huge hex nut is tightened on over the outside of the shaft....
What i have noticed is the drivetrain is much quieter...... no more apparent rattle ....thought it was normal but now i know what its supposed to sound like.....quiet!! Glad Yammi fixed b4 my ski ripped in half.....
