The open loop colling won't give you more hp or top speed, but at a certain point the stock closed loop cooling system offers not enough cooling anymore.

You don't install the system to gain hp or speed, but to be able to mod your engine more without getting the over heat warning every 2 seconds.

where does the "open" loop water come from? is it the lake water?

Yes, it will still work better than running 150+ degree coolant. I doo a lot of jet skiing on Lake Mead, in Nevada, where temps can get over 120 degrees and an open loop cooling system will keep your engine cooler vs. a closed loop system, even when the water temp is over 90 degrees.

Hey Guys I Just Had The Open Loop Kit Installed, I Have Not Run The Ski Yet And Was Wondering What Sort Of Operating Temps I Should Be Getting In The Water...im Pretty Sure 23deg Is With Standard Closed Loop.
Also How Often Should I Grease The Nipple On The Kit?
