Question 3 degree timing advance key GP1300R

    Guys
Can anyone explain the benefits of a 3 degree timing advance key for my 2007 GP1300R.
I have the chance to buy one but don't know the benefits.

    Cheers

More power all over...better launch ,great mid range, ok top end. pain to install but worth it.

    fuel

Thanks for that, would the ski need to run on aircraft fuel with this added or will shell optimax do?

    93 octane would do it.

I dont think aircraft fuel is the best food for your ski..aircraft fuel is blended with light end molicules and made for 3200 rpm aircraft engines...rx951 probably knows more about fuel than anyone here...I have the 3 deg keyway and milled my heads to have 140 psi, I have found midgrade to run very well.........the midgrade in dallas has ethonol in it which raises the octane...my friend with a gas station(dallas) had their gas tested and premium was 95 octane, mid was 92 regular 91.....the alcohol does water the gas down as far as b.t.u. content so I have turned up my e.f.i. box a notch.

    i tried 89 and it didn't hurt a thing.
i was on the stock compression though.
Hole shot wouldn't have even impressed a turtle.

Still I highly recommend 93 octane.
