97 xp wont start need help

my starter went dead so i changed it to a used one i had and it started the first crank but after that it just bumps over and stops bumps over and stops, like if it didnt have enough juice. so i changed battery with new one same thing checked grounds all good even added a ground out back by battery, no luck so i bought a starter from sbt used from someone and installed same thing just bumps over, oh if i remove the plugs it turns over fine with both starters. i also checked relay i jumped the relay and did the same thing. checked fuses all good, dont know what else to check unless i have three bum starters.

    Change your ground wire.

    I bet she stops bumping.

Send excess starters to me for payment...

The thick black wire that goes from the battery ground to the engine.

An easy test to confirm: Get a set of jumper cables. Connect one wire from a good ground on engine to battery ground. Try to start. If it spins, wire is bad.

    Talking got it running

it was the battery, eventhough i replaced the battery with a new one i initially charged it incorrectly. i stuck it on my car charger cranked it to 40 amps and charged it for about half an hour. read fully charged but it was not, you have to trickle charge these batteries so they get a full charge did not know this, i learned though caused me to miss memorial day and a couple other times because of something i thought i had fixed. so to sum it all up trickle charge your batteries they will last longer.
