    2005 RXT

I found a great deal on a 05 RXT. Only 13 hours on it. I keep reading that the 05 had problems. Any opinions? Should I hold out for an 06 or 07 for more money? I have a mechanic that works on my skis for free (I let him use them). So he could easily fix the supercharger and other small issues. How much will it cost me to make this a reliable ski?

    Thanks,

    Chris

About 150.00, you need uncoated S/C metal washers and a couple of shims. Your such low hrs, I wouldn't worry about the spring washers and the most important thing- somebody that knows how to rebuild the S/C. I have not had any other problems that wasn't self induced. And what's a good deal?

On a scale of 1 to 10, please tell me the difficulty rating of rebuilding supercharger, also the cost for parts.

    Thanks,

Is there an average life span of a supercharger?

the 1 to 10 depends how mechanically inclined you and your mechanic friend are. the shop that did mine (ceramic washers failed) had everything cleaned out and reassembled in about 3 days. But that was a rather intensive issue due to the washers failing and needing full servicing.

I'd give it a 3...the bungee on the water box and the rear bolt are both a pain. Aside from those two things it's all gravy....place in box, send Jerry a $150 or so and he'll have it back quick.

The easiest way to deal with the water box bungee is the WD-40 method. spray it down with the lube and just slide the water box back, worked like a charm for me

    There you go...now it's just a "2".

Darth, I got to do this (move wb) one last time...I'll remember that tip.
