Cape May to OCMD
I'm looking to get a group to trailer down to Cape May and ride to OCMD.
I think mid-late summer would be best. I am interested in spending time at Seacrets (www.seacrets.com).
Itinerary would be something like this :
Ramp out of Cape May by 9 am on a Saturday
Arrive at Seacrets by noon
Hang all day and night, get rooms or sleep under a palm tree
Hit Seacrets again til 3-4
Head back and arrive at Cape May ramp by 6pm
Tie up all skis together
I would try to get some DELMARVAs to meet us somewhere on their side to escort us through the back bay to Seacrets.
Right now including myself there are 2 skis.
Would anyone else be interested??

I ride out of cape may all the time. That's a long haul!!!! But I would probably be down. Keep me posted. John

less than 100 miles, not even a tank of gas away.
I do 100+ miles more often than not.
I'm just trying to get skis interested. I guess once we get 6 skis committed to this ride we can start voting on the variables.

thats a fvcking haul especially in the ocean..... i do it in my boat once a season and that is enough for me

Ive never been by boat or ski but on paper it looks like a basic ride.
From Cape May Ramp:
Crossing Delaware Bay to Lewes/Rehoboth Beach point = 17 miles
Rehoboth Beach Coast to Assawoman Bay = 20 miles
Assawoman Bay to Isle of Wight Bay (OCMD) = 5 miles
Only 20 miles of ocean coast riding. I do that when I do a lap around LBI.
On paper this trip mirrors the LBI to Sweetwater Run with the exception of not doing a round trip in same day like the Sweetwater Run. So on paper SweetWater run is twice the ride this one is.
We can do the Cape May to OCMD run in less than 3 hours and that includes estimating in the no wake bay zones.
If you like bikinis, beach bars, reggae, rock, bikinis, spring breakfever, etc than the pilgramage to Seacrets will be worth it.

i will plug it into the gps and see how far it is.... more than likely i am gonna need to carry fuel with me

Just gas up at Lewes and Assawoman. Thats 20 miles from full tank each time, you'll never go below half a tank.
I figure we budget mileage X 2 to calculate gas versus distance. This way worse case scenario we are still good.
We should average 20-30 mph cruising.
Does your GPS show you marine navigation?

When you get a chance would you mind figuring this trip for me?
Seacrets is sold out of rooms and suites for the summer. I'll be checking with Bay hotels and motels tomorrow.

hey bar alan (togglebolt) from njpacrew.org are looking at doing this also but we wanted to do city to city meaning oc to oc with a stop in cape may for a fuel up stay over night on the beach some where in ocmd and ride back on sunday. via water on alan's gps it was 117 miles one way we figured a tank to capemay and a tank to ocmd and the same to come back. but the hotel thing sucks cause everything in ocmd is a 2 night min. so best bet is to get some of the other halfs to drive down with all the supplies and such and a trailer or 2 so if there is a problem ski tow it home on the trailer not ride it
