well here's how my day is going
well first day that I have off in a some time and it's actually nice out...so i decide im going to go to the nearest lake(around a 20 minute drive)...I get there, pop off the seat and notice something about my rave valve being off...well comes to find out somewhere in my ski is the little clamp that holds the cap on....so I spend the last 20 minutes looking all over my ski and cant find it ....is there a quick easy fix that could be done so i can get back on the water today? or am i going to need a new wire clamp thingy? my ski is a '95 xp 800

Yes, find the clamp...
It can't be far, get a flashlight and mirror if you can't slide your hands under the engine. It could have slid under the gas tank when you applied the brakes...get a telescoping magnet tool and go fish for it.
X-4's have a generous amount of room underneath to gain access...not like other skis.

This is a long shot but if your machine has the water regulator on the exhaust near the back of the hull...maybe using something to secure it together...with pure confidence mind you...and using the retainer from it on your raves. I know there isn't a ton of pressure on the regulator because I was just messing around with mine recently. It's not a good idea but there is a slight possibility it could work.
