    My GIBSON Exhaust RXP Install

Here how I installed my Gibson/B.M. Muffler on the RXP:

This is the alignment problem with the RXP, due to the exhaust thru-hull tip angle:

Started off with a 3" long x 2.75" diameter Hump hose coupler, off ebay @ $11:

I installed the J-pipe and all its hoses, but kept the J-Pipe/Exhaust Mani collar a little loose so the Jpipe could twist.

Then I cut the "bowl"/ "lip" of the J-pipe to an angle that I liked:

Test Fit: Slide the Gibson onto the thru-hull, again not tightening it all the way.

Once the angle is cut on the Jpipe to my satisfaction, I used the waterbox/Jpipe coupler to connect the two:

Hooked up and tightened all the hoses and what not and done.

Just FYI, I did not cut any length off the tail end of the muffler, the only cutting that was done is on the J-pipe(mandatory) and the angle off the Gibson bowl.

Very nice Jay! I like how you trimmed the Gibson so that the pipe would sit inside of it.

looks like the elbow on the muffler is just a standard 90, instead of a custom bend to mate correctly to the J pipe angle????
i fyou shortened the exit pipe of the muffler it might give you a little wiggle room to line up the exit hose??
just thoughts on how to make gibsons fit better.

Well the part thats causing the whole problem is that the RXPs back end isnt a true 90/square, its around 15-20 degrees over that. So the exhaust thru-hull tip angles UP, whereas on the RXT its flat with the bottom of the hull. When you put the muffler on the thru-hull tip its also angled up-pointing towards the head.

So I don't really see how shortening the muffler would help out any. . . mine fit great length wise.

shorter, would allow a longer silicone rubber or regular exhaust hose, that would give more room for adjustment. especially with a hump hose that can angle if necessary.
