Question #1 hot on the hose???

'95 zxi900 ,when run on the hose,#1 is very hot ...much hotter than #3.I understand #2 should be much cooler as that is where water enters but I would think that 1and 3 would be pretty close to the same temp.?. Does this sound normal?I just got the ski and am trying to chase down problems. It had some rust in #2 from gettin flipped wrong but I managed to clean it up.From what the piston wash(or complete lack of) says it is very very lean. HELP...---...

Put it in the water on the trailer and test again. The water flows in reverse on some skis when they are hooked up to a hose.

If it still gets hot then obviously, you need to look for the problem.

Also, I wouldn't recommend running on the hose for more than about 5 minutes, as there is no water to cool the pump bearings.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Exclamation

thanx rob...not sure about that reverse flow or not however it would seem that on the hose would be putting cool water to the head quicker (since there is a tee at the hose connection that goes directly to the #2 cylinder on the head) resulting in cooler cylinder temps. Center cylinder is cold on the hose, rear is warm/hot and the front is very hot after 2 mins. I guess what I am asking is......anybody with a older 900zxi see the same results on the hose?????????anybody?????????please??? I dont want to be another victim of the "my zxi disaster" forum!!!!!!!

Yeah man I finally found an answer on the pwctoday.com forum.....apparently these skis run hot in the front cylinder when on the hose for some reason......others have noticed the same thing so I guess it is nothing to worry about...

    Isn't that what I said?

Thses skis were not made to run on the hose for any period of time. It was only ment to be for flushing the engine/exhaust out.
