    05 fx ho need info,,what need to check?

    Hi guys,,
    friend of mine looking to buy a used 2005 fx ho cruiser. it is 188 hr. what's maintenance requirement to be done with the ski? or what is next requirement to be done? maybe 200 hr change the piston ring? compression test? or any idea what do i need to look or do?

    Check compression should be no less than 165 I believe.
    Check hull
    Look inside and see if theres alot of mildew. Alot of mildew means that he didnt clean and dry it out after each ride.
    Check all joints and arms for marine grease.

    Im not an expert but thats what I would check.

    what rpm does this stock fxho turn?
    what need to be done with 200 hr? i heard 250hr change the piston ring?
    anybody can help?

    Stock FXHO turns a shade over 10,000 RPM
    Extra service requirements at the 200 hour mark are;
    Valves....check & adjust clearance
    Engine mounts...check
    Rubber coupling....check
    Air filter.....check.

    Don't even think about changing the rings.....this is a 20 valve motor...not a two stroke, requiring a major engine strip down to replace the rings......not for the faint hearted!
