    T-X Speed comments - Help

Ok, need some comments / help here from you pro's out there.

RXT-X - currently 6.5hrs as of yesterday afternoon

Stock prior to installing the R&D grate and power filter - 68.3 mph with garmin gps 76 Csx

Now with the R&D grate and power filter installed, I am getting a maximum gps speed of 69.3 mph @ 8040-60 rpm's. Water was pretty calm - no chop.

Holeshot performance is still just like original...maybe a tad better. With trim all the way up, the machine will get airborne on full throttle takeoff.

Trim all the way down, boat sticks and goes like hell.

Question: Should I be getting more speed than 69.3 mph with these add on's or is that about right?

Riding conditions yesterday were 90-91 degrees...didn't really look into the relative humidity...

I still have yet to fill rideholes and around the underside of the grate....will this make a big difference? Other mods are listed below...

    Thanks, Jon

What were the weather conditions when you got your previous topspeed #'s.

Hot humid air will knock off 1-2 mph

Def. I finally experienced a back to back 98 and 85 degree days and what a difference the heat makes.

I think your right on par w/ less than 7 hrs and summer heat, IMO. You should see slightly better performance around 10 hrs.

Probably should have clarified that...last time I hit 68.3, the temp was around mid 70's...

Guess heat makes a big difference with these machines...

You should be able to add some pitch to the trailering edge to get rpm down to 8,000 rpm and might pick up a little seed.

Glad to see your holeshot is still good or better with R and D.

I ride at 2,200 to 3,200 ft and lately has been arround 100 to 105 degrees here and you dont know how much heat kills rpms. It is massive.

    Stock rpm's were 8020-40

Now they are 8040-60 after the mods.

My elevation is around 400ish. I will get exact data next time I go out, but I want to say the Cumberland River here was not quite 400 feet above sea level.

I plan on continuing to mod the machine. I'd like to see 75 or better, but I just cannot see breaking the bank for another 5-6 mph...unless I hit a big lick somewhere along the way.

Mods to date: RE Block-offs, Garmin gps cradle, Riva Sponsons, R&D grate and power filter.
How muuch extra speed do you get with that Garmin gps cradle?

Sorry man, couldn't resist---seriously, you need to talk to Jawz about a prop tweak, you'll be very pleased from what I hear.

Jawz, if you're looking, please say something??? Is it worth a try? Any benifit or forget it???

By the way, I think the Garmin cradle is worth atleast .10 mph....It is quite nice to have though as it keeps the gps out of the way of the steering system.
