why did my RXP barf out oil?...

i finished installing my rr thru hull exhaust and took the ski out for a little while. when i got home i take off the seat and find the whole engine and inside of hull covered in oil. it had even gotten all over the inside of the seat. its like it threw up oil everywhere. when i check the oil level it was missing almost 1qt. i cleaned it up and ran the engine for about 5 minutes with the hose and could not see any oil leaking. has this happen to anyone before? where should i look? should i be worried? yeah and the oil dipstick was in place. thanks

Welcome to the Forum! I`d say clean it up real good, and run the ski again, but for short periods of time, looking for the leak. There are alot of areas, oil fill cap, is it cracked?

seals, crankase vent hose, oil filter housing cap o-rings, hold down bolt o-ring, etc...

Marine Spray 9 or 50/50 mix of Simple green will clean the inside of your hull good....Let us know what you find...PR...

I agree with the Pale guy,,,no sun up there,,,you have an o-ring leaking or a hose. At these rpm`s o-rings are very important. Is the sc fully sealed and bolted?

It is, but would you want to wait 2 months before the local stealer could "get you in"???

You didn't mention, but do you have the BOV installed? That could do it

You don`t want to use a BOV. There is many threads of the pro`s and con`s of using the BOV.
I have mine removed from the IC tube and capped off...PR...

I don't want him to use one, but when I used to I noticed it would puke oil in the way he is describing.

Check for a broken o-ring at the oil filter cap?
