Question Throttle opening, measurd by BUDS

    Guys,

At my 10hr service the tech verified something abou the TPS degree reading at wide open throttle, using the BUDS system. I would assume this reading should be close to 100%?? Anyway, mine was at eighty-something and after adjusting the throttle cable as best he could, the most it would open to was 83.34%. This was with the throttle butterfly completely open. He then told me that the TPS was not adjustable and that it was fine like that. Could anybody shed some light on this?? Is it normal? Should I ask for a new TPS?? Might I be losing speed because of this?? I feel the ski runs fine, but I want to be sure I'm not leaving some speed on the table.

Thanks for the valued insight ,

    JulianC

it does not go to 100 degrees

low 80s is the most you should get out of it...

there's a chance you over extended yours not and it's opening too much... the butterfly could rotate past being perpendicular and essentially impede air flow

    Shibb,

Thanks for the reply. Now I guess I have to worry about over-turning the butterfly, thanks to the dealer tech not know anything. How could I check if my butterfly is over-extending?? I know that would really rob me of RPMs and power.

    Thanks again,

    JulianC

Remove the rubber elbow from Supercharger exit to the throttle body. ZIP TIE the thumb throttle down to WOT and then use a mirror placed in front of the throttle body to see the plate position.

And then if it isnt you can adjust it yourself...You dont need the dealer to do that...Here is a link that will show you how to adjust it......
